It requires expensive high-tech equipment for the conduction of underground mines for the extraction of coal, ore, oil shale and other rocks. Cables that are in use and are subjected to severe mechanical loads affecting the reliability and life of your cable provide support the working condition of the equipment. Today, the most popular international manufacturers of mine cables:

• BITNER (Polland) – BiTflex;
• Prysmian Group (Italy) – PROTOMONT;
• Nexans (France) – NSSHOEU and other.

However, according to the taken rate of 2014 for import substitution the problem arose in the absence of competitive domestic mining cables for underground workings. Therefore, consumers often use relatively cheap cables in relation to foreign analogues, developed over 20 years ago (KGESH). Service life of such cables is not less than one and a half year. However, under conditions of severe mechanical stresses, cables break after 2-3 months of operation.

In 2015, LLC "Tomsk Cable Factory" started the mass production of mine power cables with the voltage of 1140 and 3300 under the brand TOFLEX KGSHREKP (TU 3541-066-12427382-2015).



Cables are designed for non-stationary laying and connection of mobile machines and electrical equipment in under the voltage of 1140 and 3300 V AC, 50 Hz under high mechanical loads. Cores control cables are designed for power supply of auxiliary equipment with a voltage of 220 VAC, 50 Hz.

The design features of cable:

• Power core - copper / tinned copper, flexibility class 6 in accordance with GOST 22483.

The advantages (as compared with the cable KGESH) more flexible, less bend radius, greater number of bends and kinks and installation convenience.
• Insulation - ethylene propylene rubber.

The advantages (as compared with the cable KGESH) long allowable conductor temperature not more than 90 C against 70 C of rubber RTI-1 or RTI-1C. Thus, the permissible load current on the cable is 20% higher.

• Control Cores - special design of cores, which are located in the space between the main cores.
The advantages (as compared with the cable KGESH) resistance to high tensile loads.

• Screen - combined screen on the main cores of the winding semi-conducting tape and braid copper / tin-plated copper wire and synthetic threads.

Advantages (compared to cable KGESH): slip provision of cores during the bending / kinking.

• Armor - flexible combined water blocking protective cover.

Advantages (as compared to cable KGESH): high resistance to tear rock and pressing-through when run over the freight transport; preventing the spread of moisture to the control cabinet.

• Shield - a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer.

The advantages (as compared with the cable KGESH): high performance and productivity of the material; strength at a break higher than 3.5 times; relative elongation at a break higher than 2 times; tear resistance higher than 3 times; high resistance to abrasion, hardness Shore A 83. The properties of the material can reduce the thickness and dimensions of the cable shield while preserving protection properties.

In addition, the benefits of cable brand TOFLEX KGSHREKP include high resistance to bending. The test results provide at least 10,000 bending cycles, which increases the working life of cables in 2.5 times compared with the mark KGESH cables (not less than 4,000 cycles). The minimum bend radius is equal to at least 2.5 cable diameter (KGESH - at least 5 external diameters) allows to operate the cable in wire-laying machine with a diameter of 300-400 mm.

Thus, the design and specifications of the mine cable brand TOFLEX KGSHREKP completely exceeds characteristics of the domestic counterpart, and is a competitive product in relation to the foreign representatives.
